The previous owner of Canna forbid excavation here.	Ancient (1000 BC) orthostatic stone walls surround fields or pastures, giving silent testament to the long history of grazing on the island.	Stones once used in hut circles were sometimes used to reinforce rock walls.

	Terraced fields indicate an old history of farming on Canna also.
